I am an Irish writer, journalist and producer living in Los Angeles. Having spend many years working as a political correspondent in Ireland, a Nieman fellowship brought me to the USA, from where I now write on a variety of topics for many major newspapers and magazines in Ireland and the UK. Travel, culture and entertainment are among the subjects on which I make frequent contributions in print and on air.

Having spent several years living and working in Japan and Thailand, I remain very interested in oriental philosophies, cuisine and aesthetics. The subsequent years I spent living in Argentina continue to fuel my love of Spanish and Latin American literature, the desert and the wines of the region.

I am also developing a series of documentary projects for television, while writing my first non-fiction book based on an experimental year.
